This is Scotland’s flagship industry conference for the events and festivals sector.

Organised by our Events Directorate, it includes speakers from across the events industry. It's held for all those working to create, deliver, and support Scotland’s cultural and sporting events.

The events and festivals sector is a significant contributor to the Scottish economy. Events enhance Scotland's international profile and bring wide-ranging social, wellbeing, and cultural benefits. They also unite and engage our diverse communities.

The conference seeks to highlight the sector's importance and the valuable contribution that it makes. It also provides a forum for discussion around the opportunities and challenges that the sector faces.

When did the conference take place?

The National Events Conference took place at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh on Tuesday 26 March 2024. The event was sold out with more than 250 delegates, exhibitors and 45 speakers in attendance.

When was the previous National Events Conference?

The previous National Events Conference took place in 2019 at Gleneagles Hotel. This coincided with one of the world’s greatest women’s sporting events, The Solheim Cup.

The title of the 2019 conference was "Embracing Innovation, Delivering Change". Leading experts at the event considered innovation, change, and the future for the sector.

There were over 200 delegates from across the events and festival sector in attendance.
