Early bird entries now open
A press release from LimeLight Sports Club has announced the UK’s original closed road cycling event, Etape Caledonia, is set to return to Highland Perthshire on Sunday 12 May 2024. Early bird entries are now available for the popular sportive.
Celebrating its 17th edition in 2024 and organised by LimeLight Sports Club, the event is an epic closed road sportive through the glorious Scottish Highlands. The event is expected to welcome up to 5,000 riders to the Highland town of Pitlochry to tackle challenging route options, taking on winding roads, tree-lined avenues, lochs, mountains, and everything in between.
This will include the 55-mile route option, newly introduced this year, tailored for both experienced cyclists and for those looking to push their limits, and provides a third option in addition to the event’s traditional 40-mile and 85-mile routes.
Gold medal holder and Olympian Eve Muirhead OBE joined thousands of cyclists from all over the UK to take part in the event for the first time in 2023, finishing the 85-mile route in 5h 23 50s, commenting: “To get the chance to do a sporting event like this in my hometown, is pretty cool and it’s something I will remember forever.”
