Fair Work Convention survey

The Fair Work Convention is conducting a survey of hospitality workers and businesses who work in Scotland on the challenges they face and aspirations for the future.

This survey is open to:

  • individuals working in hospitality – it’s keen to understand what it’s like to work in the sector and hear about your experiences and opinions on how things could be made better
  • those running a hospitality business – it wants to hear about your workforce, staffing challenges and fair work. As well as your future plans

The survey is open until 6 July 2023.

Take part in the survey.

Hospitality Industry Inquiry

The Fair Work Convention is an independent body in Scotland that advises the Scottish Government and promotes fair work. It is undertaking an inquiry into the hospitality sector to develop recommendations for Scottish Ministers and the industry to drive forward change.

The Hospitality Inquiry will consider the experience of fair work in the industry and how this could be improved for the benefit of both employers and workers.

The survey will provide vital evidence to the ongoing inquiry.

Organisations taking part in the Inquiry include UK Hospitality, Scottish Tourism Alliance, the Scottish Beer and Pub Association, the National Union of Students and Unite the Union.

The Inquiry was launched in June 2022.
