2023 Thistle Award winners shine in new STV advert

New advert premiers on STV

Today (12 August), STV will premier a new advert featuring three of our Scottish Thistle Award 2023 national winners.

A 30-second advert and 10-second bumper advert have been created to showcase the awards and what it means to businesses to win, as well as celebrate the range of businesses, events and individuals that work hard to make Scotland a destination visitors will want to return to time and time again.

The advert will run for 10 days throughout August, during programmes including This Morning, Coronation Street and The Chase and will be broadcast to TV audiences across Scotland.

Fringe by the Sea, North Berwick

Winner of Outstanding Cultural Festival or Event

Founded in 2008, Fringe by the Sea is a ten-day multi-arts festival that has become a cornerstone of North Berwick’s cultural scene. The 2022 event helped East Lothian recover from the pandemic, delivering more than 219 events to nearly 60,000 visitors and bringing more than £6.5 million economic benefit to the area. The judges were particularly impressed with the strength of their community engagement and commitment to inclusivity across all aspects of the event planning.

Winner of Best Outdoor or Adventure Experience and Climate Action Award

With two Scottish Thistle Awards under their belt, Wilderness Scotland has set a new standard for outdoor experiences in Scotland. They offer unique and sustainable adventures that have captured the hearts of visitors. The judges highlighted this business as a model of best practice in sustainability and inclusivity and couldn’t fault their impressive business growth.
