The beloved Scottish beachfront festival Tiree Music Festival, known fondly as TMF, is set to launch its new digital offering, TMF TV. This will bring an exclusive insight into the festival's world-class performances, famous community atmosphere, and west coast craic.

TMF TV will be a chance for viewers to get a virtual peek backstage. Exclusive video content from Tiree will uploaded daily for the duration of the festival.

The platform will be the only place to find exclusive performance highlights from both the festival’s Big Top and Elevate Stage. Relive the event’s best moments with unforgettable footage of talent from across the weekend, available for all to enjoy.

Daily content

TMF TV will be a virtual backstage pass to a bit of the magic of the Inner Hebridean event, with a daily content package that will include:

  • special features, such as artist interviews and messages, and acoustic performances
  • a glimpse into what happens in the making of Tiree Music Festival
  • conversations with organisers and other TMF stalwarts who make the festival happen
  • unique stories about the Tiree Music Festival

Introductory offer

Audiences can sign up to TMF TV for a TMF 2024 introductory price of £10. This year’s festival takes place from 12 to 14 July, with exclusive pre-event content available to unlock for early subscribers now.

The launch of the new digital offering has been made possible with funding from EventScotland, part of VisitScotland’s Events Directorate. It will be facilitated by Scotland-based creative media company, Well Good Media.

The Tiree Music Festival is one of the world’s most remote festivals. Because of unique transport and accommodation logistics, has a restricted capacity of just 2,100.

The iconic event has had thirteen consecutive sell outs since its inception in 2010. Festival tickets have been flying out the door ever since. This pilot initiative allows the boutique event to extend its reach far beyond the shores of Tiree.

The festival launched a hugely successful live streaming digital event in 2021 in response to the pandemic, called TMF Transmitting Live. This welcomed thousands of viewers from 19 countries.

It’s hoped TMF TV will provide a new sustainable way for audiences near and far to connect with the much-loved Scottish event.

We are very fortunate to achieve annual sell outs with TMF and we always receive requests from people all over the world unable to attend for footage from the weekend.

TMF TV will aim to do just that with highlights of fantastic performances on the stages, as well as exclusive content from behind the scenes that not even those attending on Tiree will be able to see until they get home!

We are proud ambassadors for the Isle of Tiree and putting out a daily digital content package allows us to extend our global reach and showcase a little of what makes this festival special – our music, culture, community and unique place.

The support from EventScotland is critical in letting us get this pilot project off the ground and we plan to build on the scheme for years to come.

We invite people to come with us for a wee virtual peek backstage, sign up, tune in to TMF TV and never miss a beat.

Daniel Gillespie, Artistic Director for Tiree Music Festival

EventScotland is proud to be supporting Tiree Music Festival through our National Events Programme to pilot TMF TV.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Tiree’s white sandy beaches, TMF is a unique and special music festival to experience.

TMF TV will give audiences around the world the chance to be part of this memorable experience alongside the sold-out audience at the award-winning event.

Paul Bush OBE, Director of Events

TMF has become known for its world-class line ups, friendly atmosphere, intimate feel and beautiful setting.

The festival is part of Creative Carbon Scotland’s Green Arts Initiative. It was shortlisted for Outstanding Cultural Event or Festival of the Year at the Highlands and Islands Thistle Awards 2023.

The event attracts visitors from across Scotland, the UK, Europe, and the world, and has contributed £8 million to Tiree’s economy to date.
