Industry updates, in your inbox

Today (7 November) we sent out our latest Tourism Insider enewsletter. Catch up on thoughts from our Chief Executive Vicki Miller, as well as the latest from our marketing, advice and support, dates for the diary and a round-up of news from across our regions. Here’s what’s just hit mailboxes across the country…

Building sustainable demand for Scotland

In my first month as Chief Executive, I’ve started getting out and about across the country to meet with businesses, stakeholders and politicians.

It’s been a chance to hear about the challenges, investments and opportunities many are facing on the ground. As well as discussions around longer-term prospects as we work together to grow the value of the visitor economy.

And with industry event season in full swing, the VisitScotland team are out listening and talking to stakeholders and businesses, with a diary packed with regional and sector conferences and events over the coming weeks.

On the subject of events, we’re on day three of the World Travel Market in London. Getting Scotland’s products and experiences onto the programmes and itineraries of international tour operators and travel agents allows us to reach more customers in new markets, building sustainable demand for 2025.

With more than half of international visitors using travel intermediaries to plan and book their visits, it’s a key audience for us and an integral part of our marketing strategy.
