Showcasing memorable event and festival experiences

This week we sent out our latest Tourism Insider marketing special. In it, we highlight how we align our marketing and media activity to capitalise on events and festivals at a domestic and international level, plus the latest consumer trends and insights.

Events are a hugely important part of the visitor experience. They deliver memorable experiences and showcase Scotland, our values, and assets globally. This helps to attract people to live and work, study, visit, and do business here. They strengthen Scotland’s position as a world-leading destination. This enhances the reputation of our places, our sectors, and our communities; both domestically and internationally.

From large-scale sporting events that draw global audiences, to our much-loved annual cultural festivals and regional events across the country, Scotland’s quality, scale and world-leading event hosting capability is renowned. Investing in and harnessing Scotland's event portfolio is a strategic priority that is at the heart of our work to grow the value of the visitor economy.

Events give people a reason to travel to destinations. And we use our digital channels, e-marketing, and influencer collaborations, to utilise what makes them special and capitalise on the social media “buzz” they can bring. This helps us to extend reach, interest, and influence, to promote Scotland and its regions as must-visit destinations all year round. Find out more within the latest Tourism Insider marketing takeover.
