A bed-stock accommodation audit has been commissioned by South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) providing not only core factual details on sector, capacity, geography, facilities etc. but also richer content on employment and Fair Work, Net Zero credentials, accessible tourism etc.
We will use the data as well as SOSE, the two local authorities, DMOs, operators, investors and developers for a variety of purposes relating to furthering the growth of sustainable and appropriate tourism across the region.
The audit could for example, help with public sector investment decisions on infrastructure or on specific tourism projects, for event/festival planning, for local authority strategic planning or by their planning departments. It will help inform our marketing strategies (e.g. where are the hot spots for camping and caravans) and the private sector with their investment decisions.
