The 30th award programme is now live

The very best of Scotland's tourism and events industry will once again be celebrated, showcasing the innovation, collaboration and sustainable practices that make Scotland a fantastic place to visit. 

This year, the Scottish Thistle Awards celebrates its 30th anniversary and our categories, including a new Rising Star Award, will once again recognise the individual businesses, people and partnerships working hard to create the warm destination and visitor experiences Scotland is known for.

Nominations are now open and entries for businesses to officially enter will open on 18 March 2024.

    • Nominations open from 1 March - 31 March 2024 
    • Entries open from 18 March - 28 April 2024

     

    • Regional finalists announced: July 2024
    • Regional Award Ceremonies: September 2024

     

    • National-Only Finalists announced: August 2024
    • National Final Award Ceremony: November 2024

New category for 2024

As well as the award programme marking its 30th anniversary, this year also brings a new category to our regional awards - the Rising Star Award.

Sponsored by HIT Scotland, the Rising Star Award aims to recognise the achievements of individuals at the start of their tourism career who display a passion and enthusiasm for the industry and show real potential for the future.

The categories

There are now a total of 15 regional categories celebrating the very best of Scotland's accommodation sector, food and drink, outdoor experiences, and visitor attractions. 

The three national-only categories celebrate Scotland's outstanding sporting events, business events and luxury experiences.

Responsible tourism remains at the heart of the Scottish Thistle Awards, supporting the aim for Scotland to be recognised globally as a leader in this field. As well as our dedicated Climate Action Award, every entry will be required to provide evidence on how their businesses addresses key areas of responsible tourism.
